In 1830 Madhusudan left Sagradandi and went to Khidirpur, Calcutta. Even if he was in Calcutta, the poet's mind was always in Sagardandi. On hearing the news of his mother's illness, the poet came to Sagardani with his wife and son and daughter on a barge along the river.
